A plain-English overview of alcohol and other drug treatment reporting in Queensland: who collects the data, what is involved and where Mimaso fits.

General information only. This guide is a plain-English overview, current as at November 2026. It is not legal, compliance or professional advice. Confirm your obligations with your funder and the current official documentation.
Where this applies: Queensland (QLD).
Publicly funded alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment services in Queensland report client and treatment data to Queensland Health, which supplies it each year to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) for the national AODTS-NMDS. The Queensland Network of Alcohol and Other Drug Agencies (QNADA), the peak body for the non-government sector, has a long-standing role in collecting that sector's data.
Services funded only by the Australian Government, including through a Primary Health Network (PHN), generally report directly to the AIHW.
Mimaso is set up for Queensland AOD reporting. Your team records casework as usual, and Mimaso produces the return, flags missing or invalid fields as they are entered and checks the whole return before it is submitted.
